All my tutorials are written for PSP7, however, most of them could be adapted to PSP6. I alway work in PSP with my Tool Options and Layer Palette open. If you feel too crowded working this way, you can toggle the two palettes on and off by pressing the L key for the Layer Palette or the O key for the Tool Options.

And one more bit of info before we get started, I do EVERYTHING on its own layer. I do not merge the image flat until I am completely satisfied with how the image looks. (Well, I'm never completely satisfied, but you get the idea.)

I'm going to try to explain how to give your text some depth and texture. Flat text is very BORING.
